. This is a repository of my findings on the triangular number 153, I will add notes as I edit and hyperlink my articles The number 153 is associated with the geometric shape known as the Vesica Piscis or Mandorla ( Almond ). Archimedes, in his Measurement of a Circle, referred to this ratio (153/265), as constituting the " measure of the fish " People most commonly know this as the number of fish Jesus catches in his net: 153 During the course of my studies into the use of figurate numbers in mathematical astronomy I noticed that this triangular number 153 can also be used fairly extensively in the calculations, this thread details my findings
153, like 666 and 2701, is a triangular figurate ============ Notes

. This figurate is used to calculate the number of days in the Julian year
We take the square root and round off the answer ( Floor function notation ) and multiply by the number of days in the synodic month average The true length of a year on Earth is 365.2422 days, or about 365.25 days
We keep our calendar in sync with the seasons by having most years 365 days long but making just under 1/4 of all years 366-day " leap " years ============= Notes The Sothic cycle or Canicular period is a period of 1,461 Egyptian civil years of 365 days each or 1,460 Julian years averaging 365¼ days each, so the fact this year length is derivable using the figurate combined with the synodic month average, points to the high likelihood of the use of triangular numbers in Egyptian calculations

. In pi, the first occurrences of the repunits starts with the 153rd digit. In my conjecture, I state that Mesopotamians and Egyptians would have placed great importance on these numbers in the digits of pi, considering the relationships ( Bijections ) to be " sacred ", and thus forming the foundation of the importance of numerology in the antiquities ============== Notes

. This is just another relationship I feel would have been known to Mesopotamian mathematicians, and perhaps held sacred or contained in some corpus belonging to priests, and I will probably be adding notes to this post as I finish my threads
The number 7 in Babylonian mysticism / numerology is significant, but it's origin likely lies in the earlier system of measuring time as seen in Naram-Sin's reformation of metrology, and more than likely is associated with the period of 7 days that became part of the Genesis account of creation ============ Notes The Origin of the Mystical Number Seven in Mesopotamian culture - arXivhttps://arxiv.org › PDF by K Muroi · 2014

. Here, in the spirit of mathematical methods like " Regula Falsi " ( The method of false position ) I have outlined another unique relationship between the figurates T 17 and T 36, and the unit of the grain What we are showing, is that when you take the number line, and raise every term to the power of the figurate 153/100, you'll find that the unique figurate 666 provides us the grain length In my opinion, this shows the reason why one grain was chosen to be 2.7 millimeters, because this allows calculation of the moon's inward acceleration to be " meshed " to the use of figurate numbers within the confines of Naram-Sin's system of units, discussed more in my thread on the unit of the grain ... ============= Notes

. Here we are using the constant attributed to Euler, ( Euler's number ) combined with the figurate T17 to give the approximate number of miles in the lunar distance unit This is more evidence that this constant was known in the antiquities, and given the simplicity with which one can calculate it, it's reasonable to assume Euler was certainly not the first to have this idea, especially when we consider it's integral to compound interest formulas ( Well known in Babylonian mathematics ) ============ Notes cf. the trapezoidal number 3627

Here is an example of a Saros eclipse cycle calculation that would have been known in Ur, Babylon, using Naram-sin's " garden " and the square & triangular figurates combined with the synodic month average This is equivalent to the calculation done with the approximate lunar diameter and the unit of the " grain ", as explained in my thread HEREHere is the relationship clarified: We can clean this up a little by switching out 3,600 for it's index as a square figurate Sn ============= Notes Eclipse Prediction and the Length of the Saros in Babylonian Astronomy PDFLIS BRACK-BERNSEN∗ AND JOHN M.
